A MiddleWeb Listserv Project

In the fall of 2001, MiddleWeb invited interested persons from our MiddleWeb Discussion List and others who visited our website to join in a year-long discussion about struggling middle grades readers. Juli Kendall, a reading teacher in Long Beach, California, helped moderate the discussion. Juli also kept a weekly journal of her own work with fifth-graders who were held back after they failed to meet the district's minimum reading requirement for promotion to sixth grade.

During 20020=-03, Juli continued her journals, this time focusing on her Writing Workshop. Follow each week's entries here!

Find out more about our project at our Reading/Writing Workshop homepage.
